Rules & Regulations
If I upgrade my conservatory with Thermotec roof panels will I need to get Planning Permission from the Local Authority?
In the majority of cases, upgrading your conservatory roof with Thermotec roof panels will not require any planning approval unless of course there’s have been certain development restrictions placed on your property in the past. That said, the fact you’ve been permitted to build a conservatory previously does strongly suggest no restrictions apply however situations can change as do Planning Laws.
We recommend that if you are in doubt and feel Planning Permission could be a requirement then contact your local planning office or we can make enquires on your behalf.
Will Building Regulations apply if I upgrade my conservatory with Thermotec roof panels?
With regards to Building Regulations, again it would very unlikely that it was a requirement when fitting a Thermotec roof as unlike tiled affect conservatory roof our panels are factory insulated/ sealed to an optimum standard and are made from strong, aluminium throughout so it’s impossible for anything to be overlooked or omitted – acoustic, thermal and structural properties are all predetermined so a Building Inspector has nothing to check/ inspect there during installation.
To that end, where additional development is being carried out by a Homeowner it maybe a requirement to gain Building Regulations, on the project as a whole, so rest assured Thermotec Roof Panels are Building Control compliant and we’ll happily assist with any application there.
