Thermotec Conservatory Roof Pricing
It’s often the first question we get asked, ‘how much do Thermotec replacement roof panels cost?’
Our roof panels are completely bespoke for each and every conservatory so often there is no ‘average price’ as two conservatories can be exactly the same size but there can be major differences in the price so here is what we base our prices on:
Angles
Every conservatory roof framework is different and often bespoke so therefore we need to know the exact angles to which your existing panels have installed to. This is of particular importance in terms of costing due to how the panels are optimised and manufactured out of sheets of aluminium. During the manufacturing process the sheets are machine cut to the exact shape and one-off or odd angles can often mean some sheet wastage. Carefully measuring the exact angles of your existing roof panels will enable the factory to minimise wastage and ultimately save on costs.
Conservatory Roof Type
Different conservatory roof makes and types will have their own intricacies that need taking into account costing wise eg: a P-shaped conservatory will take a lot longer time to install than a simple lean to and obviously this will affect the price and older makes of roofs aren’t so easy to disassemble.
Roof Rafter Depths and bearings
As our roof panels are completely bespoke we must ensure that the depth of the panels match the depth of your existing rafters (roof framework) so that they can fit like-for-like. Obviously, the deeper the rafter bearing the more material will be required. This addition is vital to our calculations especially when taking into account angles and shapes.
Panel Colour Options
We offer a wide range of colour options for the external part of the panels and dual colour adds to the overall panel cost plus certain colours and finishes will affect the final price so this all needs taking into consideration.
Feasibility of Installation
As we offer a comprehensive 10-year guarantee and are fitting into an existing structure supplied/ fitted by another company we must ensure by visual inspection you’re going to be happy with the finished product and that ultimately it’ll work efficiently and last the test of time. If we deem your existing conservatory not to be structurally sound or spot an underlying issue which could affect the overall outcome of the installation then we’ll advise you accordingly and as frame/ roof manufactures, if required, will quote you for new framework. This is a rare occurrence but it can and does happen particularly when an extremely old or poorly constructed conservatory is involved but please rest assured we’ll always give you impartial advice.
Size of Panels
Our bespoke roof panels are manufactured to exactly fit snugly into your existing roofing frame and due to the detail we need the exact length and width of your existing panels down to the last millimetre.
Extras
Whilst we specialise in conservatory roof panel upgrades, whilst we’re carrying that work out it does make sense that we fix or replace any other broken or damaged parts of your roof in the process. Top caps, end caps, crests, finials and guttering/ downpipes often get broken or worn/ fade over time so this can all be discussed during the pricing stage so the final price is fixed and there can be no hidden extras or costs unaccounted for.
When it comes to Thermotec one size does not fit all!
Hopefully this information about our pricing policy has helped to explain why it is so difficult to give a ‘ballpark’ figure or an average cost for a particular size of conservatory – many factors come into play not least being access to get an accurate/ firm cost on upgrading your conservatory, it is important that we treat every job individually and tailor our quotation around the exact requirements of the installation. The last thing we want is to give you a low ‘ballpark’ figure that ends up not being possible to honour and overlook important factors in the process or alternatively it would be off-putting to over-quote for transforming your conservatory, putting you off in the first instance and before you’ve even properly looked into our product and service.
All of our quotations are given completely free of charge and with absolutely no obligation to buy what so ever. You have absolutely nothing to lose by getting a price and finding out if Thermotec can transform your conservatory and in most cases it is the most cost effective option, proving up to 50% cheaper than the equivalent tiled affect warmroof option. You’ll find our surveyors nothing but friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with (although in some instances it may cost you a cup of tea!)

How does Thermotec compare to other roof upgrade options?
As mentioned, the price of our roof panels is dependent on many factors and every installation is different. To illustrate where we are in comparison to other available options we’ve produced the table below. Generally we find we are more expensive than polycarbonate and glass roof but not as expensive as having a complete new tiled affect warmroof and certainly without the hassle and disturbance this type of roof upgrade can cause (The guide below is for illustration purposes only:)
